1984- An Introduction

As our class is writing blogs about social injustice and dystopian novels, it seems impossible not to choose Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, one of the greatest writers of the 20th century.

Throughout his life, George Orwell (Actual name Eric Arthur Blair) wrote about the political dangers of totalitarianism and authoritarian governments. In 1945, after witnessing the rise of the totalitarian Soviet Union and the use of secret police to quiet political opposition, George Orwell wrote the short story Animal Farm to criticize totalitarianism and authoritarianism forms of governments. Then, in 1949, the novel 1984 was released.

I haven't read the whole story yet, but I know it won't disappoint. Every day, starting from now, I'll be reading each section, maybe twice a day if I have time. Well, I'm very eager to be reading this novel, and I hope you are too!
